I was so excited when I saw this Easter scene!! I contacted Laura immediately. To be honest I thought it was kind of expensive, but I decided I really wanted it for my home, for my grandchildren, and I would use it every year. I finally decided, I will buy it for my birthday. I contacted Laura again and drove to her home and purchased the set. Laura was so gracious to let me come to her home and pick it up. I was having a family party and wanted my grandchildren to be able to see and play with it. I was so excited about it, I took it to work and shared with my co-workers. For the last two weeks, my grandchildren that I see almost daily, play with the set, carry around Jesus, and move the pieces around. The Jesus statue even has the nail prints. The material, the set is made of, is child friendly/unbreakable and yet so beautiful. I love my set!! I am so glad I bought it. Thank you Laura!

Love, love, love this idea! I had been in search of something like this, but the only ones I could find similar to this one had Jesus on top of the tomb with His arms stretched toward heaven. I prefer this Jesus with His arms outstretched to us, inviting us to come to Him.

What a delightful couple! I love them already! They have awakened us at a very important time in the history of this Earth. Now artists all over will be designing an Easter tradition for market with more meaning, I hope. Hopefully this will help draw a line between celebrating Spring and the real meaning of Easter. As a Stake Preparedness leader, I have been aware of the many, many people who cannot afford such a luxury. For those, I sent out a handout full of other visual effects they can create themselves to bring this Spirit of Easter, into their homes. For example, I found tiny candle holders and frames at Salvation Army and used E6000 glue from Lowes to make pedestal pictures. Each frame holds a printed picture of a scene that describes that incredible morning.

I had a dream about this very thing recently. I designed a whole Easter Creche in my mind--including the Garden of Gethsemane and the cross on Golgotha, as well as the tomb much like they have made it. I wished that I knew some artist who could make this idea real. So glad to have found one!

Great Easter idea. And also rather than bunnies, how about lambs. In Primary we now have the children glue white cotton balls onto lamb cut-outss to start an Easter tradition of the sacrificial Lamb.

I ordered the wonderful Easter Creche and when it got here a Time Warner man was fixing our cable, I was very excited to have received it and as I was unwrapping everything I asked him if he celebrated Easter and he said yes but he told me he and his family weren't religious, I asked him if he knew the Easter story about Jesus Christ and he said no, so I told him the story using the creche, he was very interested. When he left I asked him if he wanted the printed story of the Resurrection that was inside the box and he was very excited to take it and told us that he was going to read it right then in his truck because he had sometime before the next house.

Yay! It was so fun! The Spirit was there! Our family loves it and it makes me happy every morning when I
wake up and see it.

Or: Why I Want an Easter Creche

Last year I was a docent at the "Sacred Gifts" art exhibit at the BYU Art Gallery where Carl Bloch, Frans Schwartz, and Heinrich Hofmann were the featured artists. Like the exclusively Carl Bloch exhibit several years before, the paintings had a profound spiritual impact on many of us. Art has the power to transform our lives. For example, one of the directors of the exhibit told the docents that when he had been on a mission to Denmark every pastor he met said that he did not believe in the literal Resurrection of Christ. However, where the Carl Bloch paintings were prominently displayed within different Danish churches, con greg ants and pastors tended to believe in the resurrection. 

Every spring since my children were small, I have loved to haul out my boxes of Easter eggs, baskets, and bunnies, home made or purchased at real expense. Yet these are not symbolic enough to translate into what is most meaningful about Easter: Christ atoned for us, died for us, and lives!

Laura Mortinsen's Easter Creche reminds us in a lovely three dimensional art form what happened over 2,000 years ago. She had insisted that though the creche pieces are not toys, she wanted children to be able to handle and touch and think about the Easter story. (fhe stone even rolls away from the tomb.) They are a visual testimony to what Christ did for us, and an avenue of building testimony in the same way Carl Bloch's paintings have done in Danish churches. Though the Christian world celebrates Christmas as the "real Christian" holiday, that all would be lost for us if Easter had not been the real story.

OF THE FIGURE. I USED THIS FOR A LESSON IN GOSPEL PRINCIPLES ABOUT THE LIFE OF CHRIST.ND THIS ON THE OTHER SIDE AND THERE WERE MANY COMMENTS ABOUT IT. I LOVE THAT IT IS UNBREAKABLE TOO, MY GRANDCHILDREN HAVE LOOKED AT IT AND MOVED THE FIGURES AND L NEVER

This is unique! Beautiful artistic depictions of the characters. Soon after I got this I used this for a lesson in Gospel Principles about the life of Christ. I had the nativity on one side of the table and this on the other side. Many commented on it and wondered where I got the tomb and figures. My grandchildren love it. They have moved the figures in and out of the tomb and roll the rock infront and to the side. I never worry a minute, infact I love that they play with it. It is a good investment!!!

A GREAT IDEA. A BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT. THANK YOU!!

My family is always searching for ways to help us remember the real meaning of Easter. At Christmastime we talk about the birth of Christ and have many visual reminders of the season, but it has been a frustration to not have the same for Easter. I love my Easter crèche; it is a beautiful reminder of a sacred holiday we celebrate as Christians. I was so pleased to watch my four year old interact with these figures as she had with the nativity set at Christmas. She remembered the story of Easter she had been taught which was then reinforced by moving the pieces of the crèche around. She kept putting Jesus in the tomb, rolling the stone to cover the entrance, and then bringing him out again. I am so pleased with this. The pieces of the crèche are not only artistic, but are extremely well made. I don’t hesitate to let my children play with it because it is so durable. The attention to detail is amazing. A great idea. A beautiful product. Thank you!!

THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY CHARMING AND VERY NICE QUALITY! I WAS SO IMPRESSED!

I would love to have this for my family! I met Laura today while servicing her UPS Worldship station and saw these in person. They are magnificent. They look so wonderful, much better than any picture can convey! What a lovely idea to remember the true meaning of Easter with our families!

BEAUTIFUL WAY TO DECORATE YOUR HOME WITH THE TRUE MEANING OF EASTER.

Wonderful product looks like very high quality art, but still can let the kids play around with it without worrying about breaking. We put a Christmas nativity crèche out every year, and now we have one for Easter.
